Originally starting out as Graves Gymnastics Club in 2009 (based at Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre), with just 45 recreational members, the club has quickly developed. In late 2012 it was evident that the club was outgrowing the leisure centre and needed to relocate. It was a daunting prospect but after lots of deliberating and planning we managed to make our dream of having our own premises a reality. In January 2013 we moved to Birch House Way in Dronfield and DGA was born. We opened our doors on the 7th of January 2013 with the aim of offering gymnastics coaching for all, from complete beginners to competitive gymnasts, boys and girls, from the age of 4+, 7 days per week.
After 5 very successful years and with over 500 members we have now outgrown our facility on Birch House Way and have secured a larger 8000sqft unit on Hunter Park, just 100metres away. We will move in and open our doors on the 1st of January 2018! Our new facility boasts a parent viewing gallery, cafe, party room and member changing rooms.
We will run general classes from beginners to advanced, boys only classes, pre school classes, a teen class and an adult class. Our main discipline is Women's Artistic Gymnastics and we have 6 Women's Artistic squads who take the sport to its highest level training long hard hours representing the club around the country.
DGA is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) which mean that all profit is spent on running the gym or reinvested to improve the service and facilities.
